Claim: A viral video shows that a woman was physically assaulted by hospital staff in February 2025 at the Pirmahal THQ Hospital.

Fact: The video is indeed from the Pirmahal THQ Hospital but the incident took place in October 2023.

On 25 February 2025, a Facebook post shared a video of a woman being kicked by men wearing white and black shalwar kameez. The video has a watermark saying “RJ Javed Bhatti” as well as the logo of the news blog Urdupoint, and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s qawwali plays in the background.

The post was captioned:

[Translation: Pirmahal: The staff of the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital brutally tortured a woman. The laboratory in charge, Nasr, continued to assault an elderly woman with shoes and kept kicking her even after she had fallen. No amount of condemnation is enough for this heinous act. Had Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi been the Chief Minister of Punjab today, the responsible person would have been removed from the job. During his tenure, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had formed a special monitoring team to oversee Punjab government departments.

A team from the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell used to visit hospitals daily to listen to patients’ complaints and report directly to the Chief Minister. Numerous developments took place in District Toba Tek Singh and Pirmahal during his tenure.]

Fact or Fiction?

Through an initial reverse image search, we found that this video was earlier shared on Facebook on 4 October 2023 by a page called Toba Tek Singh News By Sultan Sidhu. The post included a caption saying that this incident took place at Pirmahal Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where the staff tortured an elderly woman. It further used religious references to condemn the act and put forth a call to action against the hospital’s Medical Superintendent (MS).

However, the thumbnail of the video in the post suggests that the Health Commissioner has suspended the hospital staff involved in hurting the old woman and initiated an inquiry into the incident.

Another Facebook post shared by ‘Ali Arsalan Budhra Pti’ on 3 October 2023  includes another version of the video with the original sound of the old woman and the man kicking her. In the caption, the poster claims to be an eyewitness, having recorded the incident on his phone. The caption says, “You can see it very clearly in my video and you must remember that the MS (Medical Superintendent), Naib Qasid and other staff members of the Pirmahal THQ Hospital are rude and corrupt. Somehow Allah had rid us of this corrupt MS but I don’t know from where he has come back.”

We also found Aaj News reporting on the incident on 3 October 2023. Their correspondent Nauman Majeed reported that the lab in-charge Nasr was the person seen assaulting the woman in the video, and that on that day there were no official reports of the man getting fired or any inquiry decisions made by the hospital leadership. He further added that the woman in the video has mental disabilities.

While Soch Fact Check cannot confirm the abovementioned details of the incident, we can conclude that it took place in October 2023 and is being shared out of context in February 2025.
