On 23 June 2022, Twitter user Deepak Nikose posted a video that shows motorcycles slipping and toppling over on a wet road. The video caption reads “Today at Sanpada station @ndtv.”
Monsoon rains in Mumbai have been known to cause flooding, which explains why the video is being shared with the claim that it depicts motorcycles toppling over in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check found that Twitter users were flagging the video in comments sections, pointing out that it in fact depicts the aftermath of a recent heavy bout of rain in Karachi, Pakistan.
To further investigate the claim, Soch Fact Check took a screenshot of a Honda car showroom visible at the 0.5-second mark in the video. A Google map search showed that a similar Honda showroom with a similar “free parking gate” is located at Rashid Minhas Road, Karachi.

Further, a keyword search on Google turned up a Geo TV news report published on 23 June 2022 in which the same video is featured. The report explains that the incident involving the motorcycles took place at Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi. The report explained that the accidents occurred due to heavy showers, as well as an unexpected dust storm on 22 June 2022.

Conclusion: A video of motorcycles slipping and toppling over on a wet road was not taken in Navi Mumbai, India. The video was in fact taken in Karachi, Pakistan, and shows motorcycles toppling over on Rashid Minhas Road following heavy rainfall.
