On 14 March 2023, Facebook user Ahmed Khan posted a video claiming that it shows transgender people and women, who are PTI supporters, attacking the police during the recent clashes in Zaman Park, Lahore.

Soch Fact Check found the claim to be false. A reverse image search led us to this tweet by Adeel (@DeelBhai786), posted on 28 September 2022. It carries the same video with the claim that it shows transgender people attacking Defence Housing Authority (DHA) security in Lahore.

Soch Fact Check searched Google with the keywords “transgender police DHA Lahore September 2022” and came across a Daily Times article titled, “Transgenders clash with DHA guards”. The report dated 29 September 2022 carries a photo and Adeel’s tweet as well. It stated that a group of transgender protesters clashed with police claiming that the DHA security guards “tortured” them and prevented them from standing at traffic signals.
The same video as the viral video was also shared on YouTube on 28 September 2022.

Conclusion: The video has been wrongly linked to the clashes in Zaman Park. It’s from September 2022 when police clashed with transgender persons in Defence Housing Authority, Lahore.
