Claim: Geo News reported that England needed 50,000 urgent workers and 10 companies are offering free visas.

Fact: The post is a scam.

A Facebook user posted a reel (archive), purportedly showing Geo News announcing that the UK will provide free visas to workers. The text “England 50,000 urgent workers needed. Breaking News” is superimposed on the video.

The voice of the news anchor in the clip reports: “There is a shortage of people working in England. Due to this, England has decided to offer 50,000 workers free company visas. 10 companies that will give visas are included. Tickets and visas from the company are free. You will get £20 for one hour and can do overtime.”

The video then cuts to showing Google’s search interface, and the following word appears typed in the search engine: “mizmaxs”.

The anchor’s voice continues and says: “To apply, visit Google, open the first website you see, and click on this first application. Below, you will see the open or apply option. And do share this post.”

The video then transitions to a frame showing an article that purportedly allows individuals to apply for an England visa.

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check analysed the video and found the claim that the UK government provides free visas to workers is false.

Firstly, the news anchor’s voice appears to have been edited over the video and does not seem to originate from the woman. Her lips are not in sync with the voice playing over the video, which indicates that it was edited onto the footage.

Soch Fact Check then analysed the audio through InVid’s tool that uses Hiya, an AI voice detection tool. The results yielded 86% probability, “which means the audio fragment is likely AI-generated.”

Furthermore, at the 0:20 mark of the video, we suspected that Google-searching “mizmaxs” appears to be clickbait. Therefore, Soch Fact Check analysed the article by Mizmaxs, titled “Guide to Applying for Visas to Dubai, Germany, France, Canada, America, and Australia in 2025″, which appears in the video at timestamp 0:22. The article does not mention England and only provides a summary of the visa application process for the aforementioned countries. It also does not provide any link to apply for the visa, as stated in the video in the claim, further lending credit to our suspicion that it is a scam.

Finally, we found no announcements or information on the UK government‘s official website reporting the development. We did not find any reports by credible news outlets that could substantiate the claim.

Soch Fact Check recently debunked a similar claim that alleged the US was offering visas and free accommodation to Pakistanis according to a Geo News report. In this claim, too, the video asked users to “type ‘mizmaxs’ on Google and click on this first link”. However, our fact-check concluded then that it was a scam.

Soch Fact Check, therefore, concludes that the post is a scam and rates the claim as false.

Virality

The Facebook reel was liked 40,700 times and shared 4,100 times.

It appeared on Instagram here, here, here, here.

It appeared on TikTok here.

Conclusion: A post featuring Geo News’ bulletin, which reports that England needs 50,000 urgent workers and that companies are offering free visas, is a scam.
