Fact: The original image does not show Bajwa. The photo actually features Indian actress Shefali Jariwala and her father, Satish, and was posted by her on social media in February of this year.
On 17 February 2025, Facebook user ‘Ansar Ali’ posted (archive) a picture claiming that it shows former Pakistan Army chief Gen (r) Qamar Javed Bajwa in a pool alongside a woman wearing a swimsuit. The accompanying caption reads as follows:
“پہچانا۔۔۔؟پاکستان کو اوجاڑنے والا سیونگ پول میں رنگ رلیاں منا رہا ہے.🤨🙄
[Did you recognise [him]…? The one who destroyed Pakistan is celebrating in the swimming pool.🤨🙄]”
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check reverse-searched the image and found it to be doctored as Bajwa’s facial features were likely isolated and superimposed onto an unrelated picture.
The original picture we found is actually of Indian actress Shefali Jariwala and her father, Satish Jariwala. The reverse-image search led us to this post by the entertainment page ‘Tadka Bollywood’, which shared it on Facebook on 17 February 2025.
We then checked Jariwala’s social media accounts and found the picture posted on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, where she wrote the following caption:

Soch Fact Check found that the posts shared here, here, here, here, and here, among others, gained significant traction. The photo was also shared here with an alternate text in Urdu that reads as follows:

Conclusion: The original image shows Indian actress Shefali Jariwala and her father, Satish, and was posted on her social media on 15 February 2025. It does not depict Gen (r) Bajwa, whose face has been doctored into the viral photo.
