On 20 April 2023, Facebook user Bilal Ahmedzai shared a post claiming that journalist Saleem Safi that politician Mohsin Dawar had been killed along with two other people following an attack on his car while he was on his way to Islamabad from Peshawar.

His post is based on a screenshot of Safi’s tweet doing the rounds on social media.
While investigating the claim, Soch Fact Check came across Safi’s tweet, clarifying that the tweet being attributed to him is fake. The journalist also said that he talked to Dawar and confirmed that he is safe.
