Claim: A video shows Bakhtawar Bhutto’s son cycling on the streets with several security protocol vehicles circling the child.

Fact: A viral video shows a bicycle rally organized by the Turkmenistan Embassy in Islamabad, where a child on a small bicycle got left behind at the tail end of the rally alongside an ambulance and law enforcement vehicles.

On 6 June 2023, a viral video of a small child on a bicycle being followed by several vehicles, including two police vans and an ambulance, made the rounds on social media, with users claiming the clip shows Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari’s son who is cycling in the streets of Islamabad accompanied by VIP protocol.

Fact or Fiction?

Bakhtawar Bhutto’s week-long wedding celebrations kicked off on 27 January 2021. Her first child was born in October 2021 and turned one year in 2022. In June 2023, he would be 20 months old. Cycling guides for children claim that children usually only begin to learn how to cycle between the age of 18 months to 2 years old. (examples can be found here and here.)

It is highly unlikely thatBhutto’s son would be able to cycle with such prowess due to his young age.

Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari also shared a tweet in response to the viral video.

Additionally, through reverse image searches of the videos keyframes, we found that a vlogger Usman Choudhary covered the World Bicycle Day activity, which was organised by the Turkmenistan embassy in Islamabad on World Bicycle Day this year, 2 June 2023. In this video, from timestamp 5:45 to 6:01, you can see the same child as the one in the video in the claim, cycling in this bicycle rally.

At 6:35, the child can be seen clearly, and it is evident that the boy in the video is not Bakhtawar Bhutto’s son, whose pictures she has shared on her Instagram account.

Virality

On Twitter, we found this video here, here, and here.

On Facebook, we found the video here, here, here, here and here.

Conclusion: A viral video does not show Bukhtawar Bhutto Zardari’s young son cycling on the street along with security protocol vehicles.
