Claim: Ali Muhammad Khan has announced that he is leaving the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Fact: Ali Muhammad Khan has not made any announcement about leaving the PTI. He was campaigning as an electoral candidate for the PTI hours after the false claim was made.
On 6 February 2024, a post on X claimed that former Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan, has announced that he is leaving the PTI and that it is an “Israeli party”.
He won the NA-10 (Mardan) seat on PTI’s ticket in the 2018 elections.
Fact or Fiction?
Almost a day after the claim was shared online, a post on X was shared from Ali Muhammad Khan’s official account containing an image of Imran Khan’s silhouette with the following phrase from a Quranic verse, “Iyaka Nabud o Wa Iyaka Nasta’een”..
In this post, also published a few hours after the claim, Khan shared a 14-minute video in which he appears to be campaigning for the PTI. Initially we can see a speaker delivering a speech to a rally in Pashto while standing on a podium with a PTI banner. In the same video, Khan himself gets on the podium a few minutes later, and delivers a speech in Pashto too.
The caption of the post says:
8 فروری فیصلے کا دن !
امت مسلمہ کے لیڈر @ImranKhanPTI کیساتھ وفا کا دن۔
[Translation: February 8 is the day of judgment! It is the day to prove your loyalty to the leader of the Muslim community @ImranKhanPTI]
In the video, Khan can be heard saying that the Pakhtuns are brave and strong people who understand who their real leader is. He mentions how the establishment has control over Pakistan, and that PTI and its workers are truly attempting to free Pakistan. In addition to this, he also condemns the killing of a young PTI leader.
Since it was shared only a couple of hours after the viral claim,, the video of his campaign proves that Ali Muhammad Khan has not left the PTI, and is still a part of the political party.

The claim was viewed 184,600 times on X.
Conclusion: Ali Muhammad has not left the PTI.
